Symptoms

一部のVMのTSDM(透過的スナップショットData Mover)バックアップが次のように失敗します。 
ABV0016: VM Direct engine 'localhost' is unable to back up the virtual machine 'VM01' on vCenter 'vc70.mylab.local' because of a vCenter API issue.

The VM Direct engine cannot complete the backup of this virtual machine because a vCenter API operation did not complete successfully.

 To troubleshoot this issue: 1) Verify that the vCenter can be reached. 2) If the vCenter is busy, wait for some activities to complete and then retry the operation. 3) Verify that the virtual machine exists on the vCenter.

障害が発生したすべてのVMは、1つのesxiホスト上に存在します。

Cause

esxiホスト上のDPD(データ保護デーモン)サービスが実行されていませんでした。

Resolution

vSphere UIを使用して、障害が発生しているVMのesxiホストを見つけ、「configure」 -> 「services」から「DPD」サービスが停止状態かどうかを確認します。停止状態の場合は、起動して「スタートアップ ポリシー」を「ホストで開始および停止」に設定します。
