Symptoms

일부 VM의 TSDM(Transparent Snapshot Data Mover) 백업은 다음과 같이 실패합니다. 
ABV0016: VM Direct engine 'localhost' is unable to back up the virtual machine 'VM01' on vCenter 'vc70.mylab.local' because of a vCenter API issue.

The VM Direct engine cannot complete the backup of this virtual machine because a vCenter API operation did not complete successfully.

 To troubleshoot this issue: 1) Verify that the vCenter can be reached. 2) If the vCenter is busy, wait for some activities to complete and then retry the operation. 3) Verify that the virtual machine exists on the vCenter.

Cause

esxi 호스트의 DPD(Data Protection 데몬) 서비스가 실행되고 있지 않습니다.

Resolution

vSphere UI를 사용하여 장애가 발생한 VM의 esxi 호스트를 찾고 'configure' -> 'services'에서 'DPD' 서비스가 중지된 상태인지 확인합니다. 중지된 상태인 경우 시작 및 '시작 정책'을 'Start and Stop with host'로 설정합니다.
