If a customer uses the .cab file to update the Dock firmware, they may see a failing error message.
Device was not updated correctly
Cause
Fwupd tool does not have the required components to update correctly.
Resolution
Workaround:
- User could use the Linux bin file to update the Dock firmware.
- User could use a Windows computer to update the Dock firmware.
- User could use snap to update the .cab file.
- Connect to the internet then run these commands:
snap install fwupd Sudo dell-fwupdate-dock install ./firmware.cab
- Connect to the internet then run these commands:
