The Dell VxRail Deployment Planning Guide describes the required planning for the deployment of your VxRail.
The target audience for this document includes experienced customers who selected self deployment at the time of purchase, field personnel, and partners who want to deploy VxRail clusters.
This guide is not intended for those who purchased deployment services for VxRail. If you purchased deployment services for your VxRail, do not rack the VxRail or connect power.
You can self-deploy AMD-based and Intel-based models. You must be running a minimum VxRail version of 7.0.410. VxRail 7.0.420 supports 2-node clusters and VxRail-supplied witness feature.
For VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF), VxRail 2-node cluster with VMware vSAN, VxRail dynamic node cluster, and VxRail stretched cluster with VMware vSAN, contact your Dell account team or reseller for deployment by Dell certified technicians. See KB 187954 for deployment instructions.
This document is designed for people familiar with:
The VxRail Configuration Portal helps you plan, configure and deploy your VxRail cluster. Use the VxRail Configuration Portal to guide you through the deployment.
