Removing the Display Assembly

  1. Follow the procedures in Before Working Inside Your Computer
  2. Remove:
    1. Battery

    2. Hard Drive

    3. Optical Drive

    4. Bottom Cover

  3. Perform the following steps as shown in the illustration:
    1. Lift the locking tab [1].
    2. Disconnect the I/O cable [2].
    3. Peel the adhesive tape [3].
    4. Disconnect the eDP cable on the system board [4].
    5. Peel the adhesive tape [5]
    6. Disconnect the display assembly cable on the system board [6]

  4. Perform the following steps as shown in the illustration:
    1. Remove the screws that secure the display assembly connector [1].
    2. Lift the tab [2].

  5. Remove the screws that secure the display assembly to the computer chassis. Figure displaying removing the screws that secure the display assembly.
