Removing the intrusion switch

  1. Follow the procedure in Before Working Inside Your Computer .
  2. Remove the:
    1. stand

    2. back cover

    3. VESA mount bracket

    4. system-board shield

  3. To release the intrusion-switch cable:
    1. Disconnect the intrusion-switch cable from the connector on the system board [1].
    2. Unthread the intrusion-switch cable from the retention clips on the computer [2].

  4. To remove the intrusion-switch:
    1. Remove the screw that secures the intrusion switch to the chassis [1].
    2. Slide and lift the intrusion switch to remove it from the computer [2].
