Removing the processor fan

  1. Follow the procedure in Before Working Inside Your Computer .
  2. Remove the:
    1. stand

    2. back cover

    3. system-board shield

    4. power-supply unit

    5. VESA mount bracket

  3. To remove the processor fan:
    1. Disconnect the processor-fan cable from the connector on the system board [1].
    2. Remove the screws that secure the processor fan to the computer [2].
    3. Lift the processor fan away from the computer [3].
