Removing the Power Supply Unit (PSU)

  1. Follow the procedure in Before Working Inside Your Computer .
  2. Remove the:
    1. stand

    2. back cover

    3. cable cover

    4. speaker cover

    5. system-board shield

  3. To disconnect the cables from the PSU:
    1. Unthread the power-supply cables from the retention clips in the chassis [1].
    2. Disconnect the power-supply cable from the connector on the system board [2].

  4. To remove the power supply socket:
    1. Remove the screw that secures the power-supply socket to the chassis [1].
    2. Slide the socket to remove it from the computer [2].

  5. To remove the PSU:
    1. Remove the screw that secures the PSU to the chassis [1].
    2. Slide the PSU and lift it away from the chassis [2].
