Removing the display bezel
CAUTION:The information in this section is intended for authorized service technicians only.
Prerequisites
- Follow the procedure in Before working inside your computer.
- Remove the base cover.
- Remove the wireless card.
- Remove the display assembly.
- Remove the display hinge caps.
About this task
NOTE:This procedure applies only to computers with a plastic chassis.
The following image indicates the location of the display bezel and provides a visual representation of the removal procedure.
Steps
- Using a plastic scribe, pry open the display bezel from the outer edge of openings at the bottom side of the display assembly, near the display hinges.
- Carefully pry open the outer edge of the bottom side of the display bezel.
- Using the plastic scribe, pry open the outside edge of the left, right, and top sides of the display bezel.
- Lift and remove the display bezel from the display assembly. CAUTION:DO NOT use a plastic scribe or any other objects to pry up the display bezel in the manner shown below, as the pressure applied on the display panel by the scribe may damage the display panel.
