Announcing the Keynote Speakers for Dell World 2014

When we go to business conferences (like the one I’m actually posting this from now), the breakout sessions are great for exploring topics in detail, but we also want to hear about big picture ideas that inspire us to return to work with new energy. They’re even better when they come from real leaders in their field that we know have been in the trenches. It’s always inspiring to hear how others are leveraging technology solutions to transform lives, businesses and economies.

Michael Dell on stage at Dell World 2013That’s why I believe this year’s Dell World keynote speakers are going to be great!

Our own inspiring founder and CEO Michael Dell will kick off the event highlighting how Dell is helping its customers thrive in a world being redefined by the forces of cloud, big data, mobility and security. He will be joined by Tom Reilly of Cloudera, Shyam Sankar of Palantir Technologies, and Michael Chui of McKinsey Global Institute who will share their compelling perspectives on the power and promise of the Data Economy.

Dell World 2014’s second keynote will focus on digital forces driving the reinvention of our lives and our economy, stemming from the book, The Second Machine Age: Work, Progress and Prosperity in a Time of Brilliant Technologies:

“What globalization was to the economic debates of the late 20th century, technological change is to the early 21st century. Long after the financial crisis and great recession have receded, the issues raised in this important book will be central to our lives and our politics,” said Lawrence H. Summers, Charles W. Eliot University Professor at Harvard University.”

The book’s authors, MIT’s Erik Brynjolfsson and Andrew McAfee, will participate in a lively discussion moderated by Reddit co-founder, investor and entrepreneur Alexis Ohanian.

And, while disruption may qualify as an overused buzz word in our industry, we believe it accurately describes the evolution taking place in the world.

By delivering solutions that are easier to buy and use, Dell is putting more power in the hands of more people than ever before. So, to close out Dell World, Michael Dell will facilitate a series of TED-style keynotes by leaders in disruption—Dr. Howard Levy, physician faculty at Johns Hopkins, along with Peter Diamandis, founder and chairman of X PRIZE and author of Abundance – The Future is Better Than You Think.

The insight of these business leaders, combined with the direct conversation with our own engineers and hands-on experience with our technology solutions, will enable Dell World attendees to better use that power to improve their own businesses, and ultimately, our world.

We’d love to have you join us in Austin, TX, November 4-6, 2014. Visit www.dellworld.com today to learn more and register to attend.
