Customers expressed their continued interest around Dell’s flash offerings at the Flash Memory Summit 2014 in Santa Clara last week. A leader in the storage market, Dell also continued to be a key thought leader in the enterprise flash space during the course of the three day conference.
Forrest Norrod, VP & GM, Worldwide Server Solutions at Dell, addressed a gathering of 1400 participants and shared Dell’s vision on “The Future of Flash across the Enterprise”. He noted that, although over the last 10 years SAS and SATA have been able to keep up with Flash, we foresee a need for a faster interface and protocol to keep up with performance. This calls for a need for a “Future Ready Enterprise” with a software-defined infrastructure. He further explained how Dell is redefining storage economics through our innovative, end-to-end technology.
Dell Storage also was recognized as the leader in any form of iSCSI storage and awarded the IT Brand Pulse ‘Innovation Leader for All Flash iSCSI SSD Arrays’. IT Brand Pulse is a trusted source for research, data and analysis about data-center infrastructure. We are very proud of this achievement and thrilled that our storage users continue to validate our iSCSI storage leadership year after year. According to this customer survey, Dell also offers the best price for performance for storage across all SAN and NAS categories.
Our success in the storage market is due to Dell’s unique value proposition. With recent portfolio updates, we now offer all-flash solutions at the price of disk solutions on both our PS Series and SC Series product lines. In addition, we provide even greater value for flash performance in our arrays, which are designed from the ground up to optimize performance and cost with a hybrid approach comprised of flash and spinning disks.
We will continue to innovate and make high-end features available to customers of all sizes and we expect that our customer-driven design approach will continue to result in leadership in the market for years to come.
