Dell Innovations Garner More Than 50 Awards at CES 2017

It’s Throwback Thursday, so hopefully you’ll excuse me if I reflect back one week to the #DellExperience at #ces2017.

Last Thursday we unveiled several innovations and some totally new products that had cameras flashing like the paparazzi. Granted, the fact that the new Spider-Man Tom Holland was sharing a peek into how our PC gaming systems play a role in the upcoming “Spider-Man: Homecoming” movie might have added to that feeling.

While he’s often mistaken for Spider-Man, that’s actually Sam Burd, executive vice president of Dell’s Client Product Group, speaking above at the Dell Experience.

But, I won’t give Holland all the credit because our products themselves have received 57 62 awards related to CES, and the press coverage continues to come.

Our XPS line has generated a lot of that buzz with the new XPS 13 2-in-1 leading the pack. The Verge used it as a key example of how “The PC is Interesting again.” Which is the same comment I heard from Cnet when I took our new Insprion 15 Gaming system over to them for their “Best of CES” segment.

But according to Eric Abent of SlashGear, our 8K monitor was one of the “most impressive” introductions of the day. And the brand new Canvas elicited this response from Engadget:

“It’s unlike anything we’ve seen from Dell so far, and it’s yet another reminder that there’s still plenty of room for innovation on the desktop front.”

Another desktop, our XPS 27 All-in-One made waves at CES – sound waves, actually.

“With a beautiful 4K touch screen, an adjustable stand, and 10 speakers, the Dell XPS 27 (7760) is a multimedia powerhouse masquerading as an all-in-one desktop,” PCMag said. “You may want to invest in some noise-canceling headphones for your family or roommates, though… Ten discrete speakers deliver full-bodied audio that will also blow your ears off.”

Grammy award-winning producer Jack Joseph Puig not only joined us at the Dell Experience, he also collaborated with Dell on the design and development of the new XPS 27 All-in-One.

And while CES may have once been known as the Consumer Electronics Show, the new products we brought to the event cross from the home to the office. Our business-focused Latitude 7285 drew high praise from the venerable TIME.

“After spending just a few minutes with the Latitude, I immediately noticed how durable its attached keyboard was,” wrote Lisa Eadicicco. “The key travel was also pleasantly deep, providing richer feedback than most keyboard accessories, including those made by Microsoft and Apple.”

The benefit of our leveraging common design for both consumer and commercial products is something analyst Charles King noted on his Pund-IT blog:

“Overall, the new and enhanced Dell offerings announced at CES 2017 underscore the efforts of a vendor intent on addressing both the immediate and emerging needs of consumers and business professionals. There are many circumstances where those discrete requirements overlap profoundly. From what I saw at CES, Dell’s offerings are likely to satisfy its customers no matter what their needs are or when they arise.”
