The winning products are PowerEdge M1000e, Inspiron Mini, Crystal, XPS One and Studio Hybrid. Most notably, Studio Hybrid was chosen by the iF China jury to be awarded with the TOP Selection Award – an honor awarded only to the 10 best products of the entire competition.

iF Design Award is the Oscars of the international industrial design field, which represents the recognition of a product's superior design by the entire industrial design community. Since 2003, the iF China Design Award has supported the fast-growing design industry in China and has become the most eye catching event in China's design world. As you are likely remember, last year, when our 27” display was on the winner list, Lionel introduced the award selection criteria in his last blog post.

As a member of Dell Studio family of computers, Studio Hybrid is Dell's smallest desktop PC so far – about the size of a collegiate dictionary, and can fit in just any living room. Studio Hybrid is high on personalization. Possessing the ability to be set up vertically or horizontally, and with its uniquely shaped and switchable color sleeves, Dell Studio Hybrid pushes the creative spirit of industrial design to a new height. It overthrows users' common understanding of desktops and introduces brand-new concepts to the world of desktops.

The Studio Hybrid doesn’t just score high on looks – it is environmentally friendly too, using up to 70 percent less energy. Its unique packaging was also designed to be environment-friendly – reducing packing materials by 30%, printed documentation by 75% by weight, and the packing materials are 95% recyclable. I am extremely proud of the fact that our designs marry style with environmental consciousness.

The 2008 iF China Design Award proves that Dell products are now being broadly recognized by industry experts and consumers. We will continue to enhance its creative spirit in industrial designing and provide quality products and services catering to users' demands, giving another reason to consumers to love Dell products.

If you are in Shanghai between Oct 15 and 21, make sure to visit the Shanghai International Creative Industry Week, one of the top design events in China. You will see Dell’s winning products along with many other inspiring design concepts on display.
