Precision 7875 Tower Reports Multiple Fan Errors Resuming from Sleep

Symptoms

Precision 7875 Tower desktops may experience abnormal fan failure alerts after resuming from sleep.

The errors occur on towers with dual RTX PRO 6000 300 W graphic cards and more than four monitors connected through the cards ports. (Using DisplayPort (DP) and High-Definition Multimedia Interface (HDMI) cables.)

Cause

The BIOS is not handling the cards and connected monitors correctly.

Resolution

The Engineering department is working on a fix to be released in a BIOS Release. The updated BIOS is to be posted to the tower's support page once it is made available. The BIOS is expected to be released in October 30, 2025.

Workaround:

Either of the following two methods can recover the desktop from the errors being reported.

Method One:

  1. Turn off all the attached monitors except for the active (primary) monitor.

  2. Reboot the desktop back into the operating system.

Method Two:

  1. Disconnect the DP and HDMI cables from the graphics cards. (Leave the cable plugged to the active (primary) display.)

  2. Reboot the desktop back into the operating system.
