Välimuistin luominen (tai levyn lisääminen aiemmin luotuun välimuistin tasoon) tallennusvarantotilassa(esimerkiksi DD6400) edellyttää tallennustilan lisäyskomennolla force-määritteitä välimuistiaseman luonnin viimeistelemistä varten.  Jos storage add -komennossa ei ole force-määritettä, välimuistilevy pysyy Available Disks (v)) -tilassa eikä välimuistin tasoa luoda alla kuvatulla tavalla.

Ratkaisu:

Jos välimuistilevy on lisätty ilman force-määritettä ja sen tilassa on Available Disks (v), toimi seuraavasti:
1. Muodosta yhteys Data Domain -järjestelmään SSH:n kautta sysadmin-tilillä.
2. Suorita komento: tiedostosi laajenna

Tämä luo välimuistin tason, joka näkyy nyt tallennustilaa käytettäessä ja näyttää kaikki komennot
