Symptoms

You may see dual mouse pointers, split mouse pointers, or no display while moving the mouse to a certain position (Figure 1 and 2).

Affected Systems:

  • Latitude 5430
  • Latitude 5440
  • Dell U3224KB Monitor

Cause

This happens because Ubuntu version 20.04 LTS does not support a refresh rate above 5120x2160 120 Hz.

Resolution

Resolution and Refresh Rate

To resolve this behavior, update to Ubuntu version 22.04 LTS. If you are unable to update to version 22.04 LTS, change the resolution and refresh rate to 5120x2160 60 Hz or below.
