Symptoms

Cable configurations are only checked when AC power is applied and are not re-evaluated during soft reboots or soft power cycles.

Voltage sensitivity can result in false HWC8010 Slimline cable errors and SWC5012 Slimline Device not Powered errors during system power-up or power cycling.

This condition is observable intermittently.

Cause

Voltage variances during cable detection

Resolution

Fix:
Update the iDRAC firmware version to 7.10.50.00 (expected availability June 2024) to resolve this issue.

Workaround:
Removing and reapplying AC power (or using the iDRAC AC power cycle) can temporarily mitigate the errors.
