Sintomi

After a warm boot or cold boot, the Intel Dynamic Tuning Technology (DTT) and PPM devices are lost from Device Manager.

This may affect the effectiveness of Dell Optimizer thermal modes (e.g., Cool, Quiet, Optimized, and Ultra Performance).

The BIOS/EC thermal protection remains active despite the missing devices.

Affected Platforms:

  • Dell 14 D14261
  • Dell 15 D15261
  • Dell Pro Essential 14 PV14261

Causa

The Intel Innovation Platform Framework Driver (version 2.3.20304.7) failed to complete installation. This resulted in the Intel DTT and PPM devices being lost from Device Manager.

Risoluzione

Note: Before starting the update, perform the following:
  • Back up all personal data. For more information, refer to Back Up and Recovery.
  • Connect the AC adapter.

Updating the Intel Innovation Platform Framework (IPF) to version 2.3.20306.4 (SWB#TRYC4) or later on the computer resolves the issue. To download and install the driver, refer to the Driver Update Guide.
