Exports the VDG or target set definition or definitions to the Symmetrix File System (SFS) on each participating storage system.

The export operation includes syntax normalization.

You can export a definition of a specified VDG or target set, or export all definitions. The previous saved versions of the definitions are overwritten.

The EXPORT command is available when the zDP GLOBAL command EXPortDEF option is set to YES or AUTO.

Syntax

EXPORT {ALL|VDG {vdg_name|*}|TGT {tgtst_name|*}}

Command-specific parameters

ALL

Exports all VDGs and target sets that are currently defined to the running zDP instance.

TGT {tgtst_name|*}

Specifies the target set definition or definitions to be exported. See tgtst_name.

An asterisk (*) exports all target sets that are currently defined to the running zDP instance.

VDG {vdg_name|*}

Specifies the VDG definition or definitions to be exported. See vdg_name.

An asterisk (*) exports all VDGs that are currently defined to the running zDP instance.
