GROUP

Specifies one or more groups of TimeFinder statements that contain information about devices on which you want to perform the operation.

When TimeFinder encounters the GROUP parameter, it retrieves the definition for the group from the group library, along with the statements and parameters.

TimeFinder checks the status of the group (by querying all storage systems and devices involved) to ensure that the operation is appropriate for the group. The operation is performed on all appropriate devices in all named groups as if they were a single group.

The GROUP parameter can be specified on the ACTIVATE, CONFIG, CREATE, FREE, LINK, QUERY FREE, QUERY SNAPSHOT, TERMINATE, and UNLINK commands.

Syntax

GROUP(grpname[,grpname,...])

Options

grpname
The name that you have previously defined with the DEFINE GROUP command. You can specify up to 127 group names that are separated with commas.
