Removing the fan assembly

Prerequisites

  1. Follow the procedure in before working inside your computer.
  2. Remove the side cover.
  3. Remove the front bezel.
  4. Remove the disk-drive cage.

Steps

  1. Disconnect the processor-fan cable from the connector on the system board.
  2. Loosen the three (M3) captive screws that secure the fan assembly to the heat sink assembly.
  3. Lift the fan assembly from the heat sink assembly.
