Modify File Control Network

To account for the use cases when user needs to change the IP address because a wrong IP address was assigned or use a different IP, the modify support is provided. If user wants to move to a different Vlan, the Modify File Control network workflow can be leveraged.

About this task

Once the local PowerMax array is selected, follow the below steps to modify the File control network:

Steps

  1. Select Data Protection.
  2. Select File Protection.
  3. Click REPLICATION tab.
  4. Under FILE CONTROL NETWORK tab, select the check box against File Control Network you want to modify.
  5. Click the Modify icon. The Modify File Control Network wizard opens.
  6. Change the required parameters.
  7. Click Run Now to modify the File Control Network.

Results

This operation now modifies the File Control Network.
NOTE: IP address change within the same Vlan:
  1. If the node addresses are modified, the user is not required to perform any additional change on the peer side.
  2. If the local cluster address is modified, the user must modify the remote connection IP on the peer side to reflect the change.
Modify Vlan ID:
  1. Modify the file control network on source.
  2. Modify the file control network on destination.
  3. Modify the remote connection on the source.
  4. Modify the remote connection on the destination.

You may notice a failure in the UI job for modifying Vlan, which can be ignored.

Below are the UI screenshots for each of the steps that are described in the above table:
