Planned Failover without Auto Start

While managing multiple replication sessions, to achieve load balancing, the user might want to reverse the direction of replication. Planned failover of a replication session will help one achieve this by reversing the direction of replication on the source and the destination NAS server. The original source NAS server will be changed to destination mode and the original destination NAS server will be changed to production mode. The session will be in split state after planned failover without auto-start.
NOTE:
  • This operation needs to be performed on the source side.
  • After planned failover is completed, the File replication session is in switchedover state and start replication needs to be performed from the original destination to the original source.
  1. Select Data Protection.
  2. Select File Protection.
  3. Click REPLICATION tab.
  4. Click REPLICATION SESSION tab.
  5. Select the checkbox against the name of the replication session you want to perform a planned failover.
  6. Click Planned Failover. The Planned Failover Replication Session dialogue box opens.
  7. Click Run In The Background to proceed with the Planned Failover.
  8. Go to the job list in the UI and click on view all jobs.
  9. Click on the hyperlink beside the planned failover without auto-start job to track the status.

This operation now performs a Planned Failover.

NOTE: If there is a failure, see Replication PartialSwitchedover Workflow.
