Replication PartialFailedover Workflow

Steps

  1. NOTE: If any failure occurs during an Unplanned Failover of replication session, the Replication Session enters the PartialFailedover workflow. This partial state allows the user to complete the unplanned failover workflow by retrying the same workflow again.
    To see the error details, click the hyperlink.
  2. Go to the Replication Session page.
  3. Click the session that was being operated on.

    The session is in PartialFailedover state.
  4. Go back to the Replication Session page.
    The File Replication State is PartialFailedover.
  5. To view the details of the alert generated, click the hyperlink next to Alerts.
    The Alerts page opens.
  6. Select the newly generated alert to view the details.

  7. Go back to the Replication Session page.
  8. Select the required replication session from the list view.
  9. Click More Actions.
  10. Click Unplanned Failover (DR).
    Since the File Replication State is PartialFailedover, the Unplanned Failover (DR) is allowed.
    The Unplanned Failover Replication Session dialogue box opens.
  11. Click Run In The Background to proceed with the Unplanned Failover.
  12. Go to the job list in the UI and click view all jobs.
  13. Click the hyperlink for details.

Results

From the PartialFailedover state, the user can successfully complete the Unplanned Failover workflow.
