Removing the powered GPU
Prerequisites
- Follow the procedure in before working inside your computer.
- Remove the side cover.
- Remove the GPU end holder.
About this task
The following images indicate the location of the powered graphical processing unit and provide a visual representation of the removal procedure.
Steps
- Disconnect the two power cables from the connector on the powered GPU and the power supply unit.
- Slide the release latch on the graphics card holder and lift it out of the computer.
- Lift the pull tab to open the PCIe door.
- Push and hold the securing tab on the graphics-card slot and lift the powered GPU away from the graphics-card slot.
- Close the PCIe door.
