Removing the coin-cell battery
Prerequisites
- Follow the procedure in before working inside your computer.
- Remove the side cover.
About this task
The following images indicate the location of the coin-cell battery and provide a visual representation of the removal procedure.
CAUTION:Removing the coin-cell battery will clear the CMOS and reset BIOS settings.
Steps
- Using a plastic scribe, gently pry the coin-cell battery out of the slot on the system board.
- Remove the coin-cell battery away from the computer.
