Dell AI PCs: Your Foundation for the New Windows 11 Copilot Era

Discover why now is the perfect time to upgrade. Dell AI PCs unlock the full potential of the new Windows 11 Copilot era with faster, smarter performance.

tl;dr: Dell AI PCs are engineered to power the new Windows 11 Copilot experience, delivering more natural, intuitive interactions for users. The latest Copilot features require increased computing power—making AI PCs with Neural Processing Units (NPUs) essential for handling modern AI workloads efficiently. Upgrading ensures you stay protected, boost productivity, and unlock next-generation capabilities that help you move forward confidently.

Over the past few years, my conversations with customers have centered on a recurring theme: the need for a PC that does more than just execute commands. They want a partner in their workflow—a device that anticipates needs, streamlines complex tasks, and adapts to how they work, not the other way around. This vision has guided our product strategy and it’s why I believe the era of the AI PC represents the most significant inflection point in personal computing since the rise of the internet.

The recent updates to Copilot in Windows 11 are making the personal computing experience even more intuitive, and more powerful than ever. Dell AI PCs are built from the silicon up to fully unlock this transformative potential. Our close collaboration with Microsoft is shifting the PC from a device that executes commands to a partner that is a seamless extension of your creativity and productivity. This isn’t just an incremental upgrade —it’s a reimagining of personal computing.

What is an AI PC?

An AI PC is a computer specifically designed with built-in artificial intelligence accelerators, like a Neural Processing Unit (NPU). Think of it as giving your computer a specialized brain for handling AI tasks.

For decades, PC performance relied on the central processing unit (CPU) for general tasks and the graphics processing unit (GPU) for graphics. However, as we observed the emerging demands of modern AI workloads—from real-time language translation to generative content—it became clear that relying on the CPU and GPU alone would be insufficient. And so, we introduced a third critical component to our Dell AI PCs: the NPU – a specialized processor built specifically for AI and machine learning tasks. The result? Faster performance, enhanced privacy and security, and longer battery life, because the right processor is handling the right task.

The power of Copilot in Windows 11

An important part of this computing evolution is Microsoft Copilot, your everyday AI companion integrated into Windows 11. Our work with Microsoft has been about ensuring that this powerful software experience is optimized for our hardware. An AI PC without intelligent software is just latent potential. Copilot unlocks it.

Microsoft’s recent Copilot updates are bringing powerful AI capabilities to Windows 11, making advanced AI accessible to more people. The goal is simple: to create an AI PC that understands you, sees what you see, and can take action on your behalf—all with your permission.

The latest enhancements are making Copilot more conversational and intuitive:

  • Copilot Voice makes interacting with your AI PC as easy as speaking. Using the “Hey Copilot” wake word, you can ask questions, get help, and manage tasks with your voice. When we observe how people work, we see a clear preference for natural communication. The data from Microsoft reinforces this; users engage with Copilot twice as much when using voice instead of text. It’s simply a more intuitive way to interact.
  • Copilot Vision offers guidance based on what you see on your screen. Whether you need help navigating a new application, troubleshooting a setting, or getting tips on a creative project, Copilot can analyze your screen and provide step-by-step support.

With these advancements and upcoming features like Copilot Actions and Copilot, your AI PC is transforming into a true partner, ready to help you achieve more in a way that feels natural and intuitive.

Why a Dell AI PC is the perfect upgrade

AI applications like Copilot create powerful AI experiences that require more computing power than ever before. As these intelligent functions become integral to everyday work—analyzing, responding, and assisting in real time—systems need the capability to process complex tasks quickly and efficiently. Dell AI PCs are specifically engineered for this challenge, ensuring users can leverage everything AI applications offer without performance compromise.

With a dedicated NPUs, AI PCs are optimized to run AI tasks locally, leading to several key benefits that make them the ideal choice for this new personal computing era:

  • Peak Performance and Efficiency. Intelligent AI task distribution to the NPU frees the CPU and GPU for other operations. Users can multitask without slowdowns while enjoying faster, more responsive experiences. For example, Deloitte developers using Dell AI PCs cut processing time for routine tasks by 50% by leveraging on-device AI capabilities.
  • True Mobility with Longer Battery Life. The NPU’s effective handling of AI workloads uses less power than traditional CPUs or GPUs, delivering significantly longer battery life. Devices like the Dell Pro 14 Premium can power through up to 21.2 hours¹ without needing a power outlet. Your PC stays ready to support your day, wherever you go, keeping pace with your demands.
  • Enhanced Security and Privacy. Dell AI PCs provide enhanced security by processing sensitive information directly on the device. Local AI processing eliminates cloud data transmission, reducing risk and protecting privacy.
  • Future-Ready for What’s Next. AI technology evolves rapidly. Upgrading to a Dell AI PC ensures readiness for the next innovation wave, making it a forward-thinking investment that adapts as technology advances. Dell offers a wide range of AI PCs designed to fit different needs and budgets, ensuring there is a perfect match for everyone – from Dell’s AI-powered laptops and desktops that enable everyday productivity, to the Dell Pro lineup providing professional-grade and security, to Dell Pro Max devices that deliver maximum performance for the most demanding tasks.

The road ahead: a platform for future innovation

The shift to AI-powered computing isn’t just a trend; it’s the future. Windows 11, with its increasingly capable Copilot functionality, showcases the broader transformation to more intuitive and advanced AI. To truly embrace this shift, capable hardware is no longer optional – it’s essential. We’re not just building devices; we’re building a new computing platform. The decisions we make in product engineering, from silicon choices to thermal design and software optimization, are all grounded in enabling these future experiences for our customers.

My team is focused on ensuring that every Dell AI PC is ready to lead this transition. Dell AI PCs represent more than an upgrade—they’re the gateway to smarter, faster, and more intuitive work and creativity. I am confident that as customers experience the power of a true AI PC, they will wonder how they ever worked without one.

1 Battery life up to 21 hours and 10 minutes of battery life with Intel U5-236V, 16GB RAM, 256GB PCIe SSD, FHD Non-Touch 400nits Display, Windows 11, and 60 Whr battery. Based on testing using the Mobile Mark 2025 battery life benchmark test in December 2024. For more information about this benchmark test, visit www.bapco.com. Actual battery life may be significantly less than the test results and varies depending on product configuration and use, software, usage, operating conditions, power management settings and other factors.
