FAQ - Dell Promotional eGift Cards

Frequently asked Questions for Dell and Alienware Promotional eGift Cards (eGift Cards given by Dell or through its partners for free, including “free with purchase,” or distributed as a reward, incentive, or part of a marketing program or promotion.) These cards may be delivered via mail or via email.

The Dell Promotional eGift Cards (“Promo Card”) is not a credit card; it is a preloaded eGift Cards that has a set dollar value printed on the carrier to which the Promo eGift Card is affixed, or, if the Promo eGift Card is delivered electronically, in the e-mail with which the card is sent (the “ePromo Gift Card Notification”). It can be used to purchase merchandise and services from Dell on our website or by phone as indicated on the materials accompanying the Promo eGift Card. Promo eGift Card cannot be used at third party retail locations, to make Dell Preferred Account, Dell Business Credit, Dell Account, or Dell Lease payments, to purchase other Dell eGift Cards, or to purchase non-Dell branded smartphones or mobile accessories, which are sold through third party partners. Large Enterprise, Federal and Public orders are excluded from Promotional eGift Cards offers. Further, Promo eGift Card cannot be redeemed for cash, except where required by applicable law. Upon redemption, the purchase amount will be automatically deducted from the value of the Promo eGift Card. When the amount available on the Promo eGift Card has been exhausted, any future transactions will be declined. If the purchase amount is greater than the remaining Promo eGift Card balance you will be given an option to add an additional form of payment. Please read the question below on "combining forms of payment" to make a purchase that exceeds the funds available on the Promo eGift Card.

No, the Promo eGift Card is a preloaded eGift Cards that has a set dollar value. Depending on the method of delivery, the card value will either be printed on the carrier to which the Promo eGift Card is affixed or in the Promo eGift Card Notification. The Promo Card is not a credit card and cannot be used as one.

Yes. Promo eGift Card expire 90 days from issuance. Please use your Promo eGift Card promptly. Expiration information for your Promo eGift Card can be found in the carrier to which the Promo eGift Card was affixed, or, if delivered electronically, on the ePromo Gift Card Notification. After the expiration date, the Promo eGift Card will not be accepted, subject to applicable law. Promo eGift Card cannot be replaced if lost or stolen.

No. Once the value of the Promo eGift Card has been depleted, the Promo eGift Card is no longer valid. However, we recommend that you retain your Promo eGift Card at least until you are sure that you do not intend to return any purchased merchandise.

The Dell Promo eGift Card has a set dollar value printed on the carrier to which the Promo eGift Card was affixed or, if delivered electronically, on the Promo eGift Card Notification. Promo eGift Card typically arrive 10-20 days post ship/invoice date. If you return the product that qualified you for the Promo eGift Card after receiving your Promo eGift Card, your Promo eGift Card will be deactivated, or, if the Promo eGift Card has already been redeemed, the value of the redeemed portion of your Promo eGift Card will be subtracted from your refund.

No. Promo eGift Card may only be used to purchase merchandise and services from Dell. The Promo eGift Card cannot be used to withdraw cash.

To use your Promo eGift Card for a purchase that is greater than the amount on the Promo eGift Card, you may pay the remaining amount of your purchase with any credit card accepted by Dell. For online purchases, you will be prompted you to provide a credit card to cover the remaining balance. Except for such credit cards, Promo eGift Card may not be used in combination with any other form of payment including, without limitation, Dell Preferred Accounts, Dell Business Credit, Dell Account or Dell Lease.

Dell can only accept a limited number of Promo eGift Card(s) per purchase. Multiple Dell Prepaid Gift Cards (Cards that do not expire) can be consolidated into a single card by calling 1-800-624-9897 Phone Icon,hours: Monday – Friday, 9AM to 6PM CT only. Please note that Dell Promo eGift Card (Promo eGift Card that expire and / or were given for free, as part of a promotion or otherwise) may not be merged with any other Promo eGift Card or Dell eGift Cards of any kind. Dell reserves the right to reject requests for consolidation of any Dell eGift Cards at its own discretion for any reason.

The Promo eGift Card will be declined if there are insufficient funds remaining on your Promo eGift Card to cover the amount of your purchase. It is important to keep track of your available funds to ensure that you do not exceed the Promo eGift Card's value. If you want to make a purchase for more than the available funds on your Promo eGift Card, please follow the instructions detailed in the question on "combining forms of payment." We value our relationship with you and want to make sure that you're satisfied with purchases made using your Promo eGift Card. Returns of merchandise will be processed according to Dell's return policies. Credits for returns accepted by Dell will be allocated back to the Promo eGift Card (in the amount of the portion of the returned purchase paid via Promo eGift Card) as long as the Promo eGift Card has not expired. However, if the card has expired, no credit or cash refund will be issued and remaining funds on the card are forfeited.If you receive a credit, the portion paid with your Promo eGift Card (excluding shipping & handling) will be allocated back to the Promo eGift Card within 3 to 7 business days after Dell receives and processes your returned merchandise. Please note: No credit will be issued back to the card if the Promo eGift Card has expired. The Promo eGift Card can be used until the value of the Promo eGift Card is depleted or the Promo eGift Card expires, whichever occurs first. Promo eGift Card expire 90 days from issue date. You can enjoy more than one purchase with the Promo eGift Card as long as a balance remains on the Promo eGift Card and as long as the Promo eGift Card is not expired.
