AMD Graphics Card May Not Output Dual 4k Resolution at 60 Hz Refresh Rate Through Docking Station
Summary: Precision 7x30, and 7x40 with AMD graphics may not output dual 4K resolution at 60 Hz refresh rate through WD19DC/WD19DCS and WD19TB/WD19TBS
Symptoms
When setting the graphics mode to discrete or special mode, the graphics may not have enough resources if the customer connects 2 4K HDR monitors to WD19TB/WD19TBS or WD19DC/WD19DCS which is attached to Precision 7x30 or Precision 7x40. In this scenario, the 4K HDR monitor refresh rate can only be set to 30Hz instead of 60Hz. But when the customer is connecting 2 4K non-HDR monitors to the WD19TB/WD19TBS or WD19DC/WD19DCS dock, it can reach 4K @60Hz when both monitors are connected to the two DP ports of WD19TB/WD19TBS or WD19DC/WD19DCS as its required bandwidth is lower than HDR monitor; however, refresh rate may also drop to 30Hz when one of the monitors is plugged to the HDMI port of WD19TB/WD19TBS or WD19DC/WD19DCS as HDMI port consumes more bandwidth.
The table shows the matrix of AMD graphics + WD19DC/WD19TB dock-supported resolution and refresh rate.

Cause
Due to the bandwidth limitation of AMD graphics.
Resolution
This is an AMD graphics card hardware limitation. Try connecting both monitors to the two DP ports of WD19TB/WD19TBS or WD19DC/WD19DCS. You can also attach one of the monitors directly to the notebook.
