CHECKONLINEpathstatus

Determines whether to check if paths from other CPUs to the target device are offline or online before creating a snapshot.

The CHECKONLINEPATHSTATUS parameter can be specified on the GLOBAL and LINK commands. It has a matching site option, &CHKONLIN.

Syntax

CHECKONLINEpathstatus({Yes|No|NEVER})

Options

Yes
(Default) If there are paths to the target device that are online to other CPUs, an error message is issued, and the snapshot is not created on the target volume.
No
If there are paths to the target device that are online to other CPUs, a warning message is issued, and the snapshot is created on the target volume.
NEVER
For all commands, no check is performed and no report is produced to indicate that the device is online to other systems.
