TIMEOUT

Determines the maximum time ECA is active during consistent snapshot operations.

Enginuity Consistency Assist (ECA) is a feature of the Enginuity operating environment. ECA provides an enterprise solution for ensuring dependent-write consistency. ECA requires that you have installed the TimeFinder/Consistency Group Licensed Feature Code (parameter CONSISTENT). The Mainframe Enablers Installation and Customization Guide provides more information.

The TIMEOUT parameter can be specified on the ACTIVATE and GLOBAL commands. It has a matching site option, &TIMEOUT.

Syntax

TIMEOUT(nnn)

Options

nnn

A value from zero (0) through 128 s. When this value is exceeded, ECA is released whether the consistent snapshot is created or not. A message is issued indicating that the snapshot is not consistent.

When nnn is 0 or 128, the default timeout value is used (15 s).
