Installing the Shared PERC 8 External card

CAUTION: Many repairs may only be done by a certified service technician. Damage due to servicing that is not authorized by Dell is not covered by your warranty. Read and follow the safety instructions that are shipped with your product.

Lift the expansion card latch out of the slot.
Hold the card by its edges, and align the card edge connector with the card connector on the system board.
Align the expansion card bracket with the metal standoff on the chassis.
Insert the card edge connector into the card connector until the card is fully seated.
Close the expansion card latch.
- CAUTION: Applying pressure on the heat sink or battery while seating the Shared PERC 8 External card may cause damage to the card. Use only the touch points to seat the card.
