At Dell Tech World 2025, leaders from government, education and technology gathered to confront some of the most pressing challenges facing our public sector customers. From advancing IT modernization to navigating the complexities of adopting AI, these conversations underscored the critical role collaboration plays in addressing today’s most urgent priorities.
This moment wasn’t just about showcasing AI-driven innovation. It was about envisioning a bold future driven by smarter strategies, transformative partnerships and the accelerated use of AI and technology to solve problems across industries and government. These are the key takeaways that stood out to me at Dell Technologies World.
Forging an AI-Driven Future
Dell Technologies’ AI Blueprint came into sharp focus during these discussions. It’s a framework designed to guide governments in investing in and regulating to allow for innovation and adoption. AI must accelerate efficiency, improve citizen services and protect public trust. For public sector leaders, the Blueprint is more than a set of principles; it’s a strategic call to action.
One of the recurring themes throughout our sessions was how AI, when used thoughtfully, becomes a force multiplier. Consider the collaboration between NVIDIA, Dell and the U.S. Department of Energy to develop the Doudna supercomputer. This system, set to be deployed at Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory in 2026, is designed to advance high-performance computing and AI capabilities. It will enable researchers to tackle challenges like cancer treatments and quantum breakthroughs.
AI is already transforming how governments solve problems. For instance, the City of Amarillo is using AI to enhance constituent services. The development of Agentic AI platforms with NVIDIA enables smarter automation for healthcare and cybersecurity. But along with these advancements comes a challenge we cannot ignore. AI adoption must be as inclusive, ethical and secure as it is powerful.
Building Economic Resilience
Budget constraints are another challenge for government and higher education leaders. Whether managing inconsistent state budgets or navigating cuts to research dollars, the message from participants is clear: it’s time to get creative. With tools like dual planning processes and IT modernization funding frameworks, Dell is offering practical support to organizations striving to innovate when resources are tight.
Technology is also helping to unlock efficiencies. Through digital transformation, IT modernization is driving cost reductions and improving decision-making in ways that were impossible just a few years ago. These transformations aren’t theoretical; they’re delivering measurable ROI. Leaders in attendance highlighted the need to better communicate these successes to secure buy-in from executives and stakeholders.
Public-Private Partnerships for Long-Term Success
Public-private partnerships are critical enablers for innovation. The release of Deloitte’s Silicon to Service program, built with Dell Technologies and NVIDIA, is an example of what’s possible when resources and expertise combine to empower government missions.
This AI-driven collaboration ensures secure, scalable AI infrastructure tailored for government use. It addresses everything from foundational computer needs to high-performance tools for data analysis. These partnerships demonstrate that blending public funding with private innovation can deliver immense societal value.
Workforce Readiness Needs Urgent Action
While innovation is accelerating, workforce readiness remains a pain point. Rapid technological advancements demand new skillsets that governments and public institutions must work hard to foster. Discussions around workforce development affirmed a simple but urgent message—we cannot innovate effectively unless we also invest in people. Proactively upskilling employees, particularly in AI and IT modernization, is not optional; it’s essential. That’s why Dell is working with the White House AI Education Task Force to share our resources to educate, train and prepare students, educators and adult learners on AI.
AI-Driven Governnent Collaboration Will Shape the Future
At every turn, government leaders and public sector professionals were united by their shared belief: mission is to serve. This goes beyond using the latest tech or innovating with AI—it’s about working together, staying accountable and finding strength in collaboration.
Dell is committed to driving this future. We’re providing the tools and frameworks agencies and institutions need to achieve long-term success.
If there’s one key takeaway from Dell Tech World, it’s that the future will not be shaped by isolated action but through cooperation. Whether it’s deploying AI for smarter government, building economic resilience in our institutions or fostering the next wave of talent, only collaboration can maximize the potential of technology.
