Operationalizing Network Transformation to Power Business Growth

Are you facing challenges with telecom cloud operations? Learn how Dell's Support & Adoption services help CSPs overcome barriers and drive transformation.

Welcome to part three of our blog series on the Dell Technologies Open Telecom Transformation Program, an end-to-end, flexible suite of products and services that enables you to transform your network from a siloed architecture to an agile and efficient horizontal cloud platform that will power innovation and business growth. We recognize that transformation is a challenge, but with our program, you’ll be able to leverage Dell’s extensive expertise and experience in cloud and telecom and transform with confidence.

So far, we have covered the Advisory Services phase, which helps you set business goals and align your transformation strategy to ensure you meet them, and the Implementation phase, during which we work with you to design and deploy a horizontal cloud. In this blog, we’ll cover Adoption and Support.

Breaking Through Operational Roadblocks to Cloud Success

According to a recent survey of global telecom by Analysys Mason, Communications Service Providers (CSPs) recognize that cloud technology is ready and proven, but operational concerns are slowing their transformation efforts. The simple truth is that many CSPs do not have the skill sets in-house to build, operate and maintain a cloud environment. Furthermore, maximizing the value of cloud requires company-wide adoption, which can be a challenge, because people prefer sticking with what they already know.

Partnering with Dell enables you to overcome these challenges. Throughout the Adoption and Support phase, we provide expert support and consulting to define the skills and roles required to operate and maintain the cloud environment we have implemented together. By addressing skills gaps, driving adoption, and offering carrier grade support, this phase ensures you get the most from your investment and build a foundation for long-term success.

Put Your Cloud to Work

Let’s take a closer look at the Support and Adoption services within the Open Telecom Transformation Program, which include:

1. Proactive Support Services: Network reliability and security are critical as workloads move to the cloud. Dell’s carrier-grade support services ensure minimal downtime, fast failure detection, and high resilience with:

    • AI-driven predictive analytics to detect potential issues before disruptions occur.
    • Real-time issue resolution to maintain consistent service and customer satisfaction.

2. Operational Transformation: Support goes beyond infrastructure maintenance. Dell helps you create effective cloud operating models aligned with business goals by:

    • Restructuring siloed teams into collaborative, cross-functional units.
    • Defining roles like DevSecOps engineers and cloud architects to drive transformation.
    • Development of RACI’s and run book documentation required for the day 2 operations

3. Skill Gap Mitigation: Shifting to the cloud often reveals skill gaps. Dell addresses this by:

    • Offering tailored training programs to up-skill employees.
    • Redefining job responsibilities and infusing new skills into the workforce.
    • Providing clear documentation, like runbooks, to guide CSPs as they take over operations.
    • Residency Services, which places a Dell SME into your operations teams, brings Cloud Operating Model expertise to help your operational teams transition.

4. Change Management and Adoption: Infrastructure alone doesn’t guarantee adoption. CSPs must feel confident transitioning to the cloud. Dell ensures this by:

  • Gradually migrating workloads based on tailored timelines.
  • Building confidence through guided onboarding and resource allocation.
  • Optimizing efficiency with automated workflows and troubleshooting.

Support and Adoption Services Mean Business

The importance of the Support and Adoption step lies in the significant value it brings to your business:

  • Maximized ROI: Investing in network transformation is expensive. Dell ensures you can make the most of your initial investment by optimizing operations and driving efficient adoption.
  • Operational Confidence: Reskilled teams, new roles, and AI-supported tools guarantee you feel confident in managing and scaling your network.
  • Streamlined Operations: Proactive support reduces OPEX by minimizing disruptions, enabling you to focus resources on innovation rather than maintenance. Automation and AI-powered analytics also improve operational efficiency.
  • Reduced Risk: Well-documented processes and predictive tools mitigate risks associated with transitioning to a telco cloud, ensuring a stable and reliable network.

The Future Won’t Wait

CSPs have a massive opportunity to leverage their ubiquitous presence and go beyond connectivity with innovative new services, especially at the enterprise edge. To succeed, they need to transform from legacy networks to a modern horizontal cloud-native network that can efficiently support digital services — and offer the agility and flexibility of today’s fast-moving markets’ demand.
