Symptoms

UHD cannot be set on a monitor connected to HD22Q dock using a DP cable

 

The Dell monitor outputs only 4K@60Hz under the following circumstances: (Where the monitor could support 8K@30Hz.)

  • It connects to a Dell laptop or mobile workstation (with discrete UHD NVIDIA graphics) through a HD22Q dock using a DP cable

Cause

The Engineering team is looking at Display Stream Compression (DSC) support issues in the graphics driver.

Resolution

Note: Administrator rights on the laptop to make any operating system changes or update any software.

Updating to NVIDIA Quadro Txxx0/RTX xxx0/RTX Axxx0/GeForce RTX xxx0 Graphics Driver and NVIDIA Control Panel Application version 32.0.15.7340, A33 or later on the laptop resolves the issue.
