Summary: Information about network disconnections while using a USB GBE Ethernet adapter.
Symptoms
Customers may report a WinPE 11 network issue when using a USB GBE Ethernet (DA300, WD19, and other non-Dell adapters). The network mounts correctly at the beginning, but then the USB adapter is disconnected with a "Media Disconnected" message after a few seconds.
WinPE Version: 10.0.22000.1
Driver Pack: WinPE11.0-Drivers-A01-28HG7.CAB
Cause
The INF rtu53cx22x64sta.inf 1153.10.20.1104 does not have support for the older ADK (10.0.22000.1).
Resolution
Latest ADK Version
Dell Engineers recommend that you use the latest ADK version (10.0.25398.1).
Workaround:
By default, the rtu53cx22x64sta.inf (1153.10.20.1104) driver is loaded. If you remove it, another driver rtump64x64.inf 10.48.914.2021 will be loaded, and allows the network to use the USB GBE Ethernet.
Process:
- Right-click "Start" and select "Device Manager" (Figure 1.

Figure 1 - Select the drop-down for "Network Adapters" and open "Realtek USB GbE Family Controller" (Figure 2.

Figure 2 - Click the "Driver" tab at the top and check the driver version and confirm if it shows "1153.10.20.1104" (Figure 3.

Figure 3 - If you do see "1153.10.20.1104" select "Uninstall Device" and click "OK" (Figure 4).

Figure 4 - Restart the System and repeat steps 1-3 to confirm the version now shows "10.48.914.2021."
