Reregister the VASA provider for policy association

You must reregister the VASA provider in some circumstances.

About this task

  • The PowerProtect Data Manager hostname or IP address has changed.
  • A virtual asset is not unassigned from a policy.
  • The VASA provider changes its status to offline.
  • The Storage Policy Based Management (SPBM) policy compliance status changes to ?  Unknown.

Steps

  1. In the vSphere Client, go to Menu > Hosts and Clusters.
  2. In the left pane, select the vCenter server, and then select the Configure tab.
  3. Under Security, select Storage Providers, and then select the affected VASA provider.
  4. Click Three vertical dots, and then select Remove.
  5. Follow the steps in Register the VASA provider for policy association to register the VASA provider again.
