Removing The Control Panel Board

CAUTION:Many repairs may only be done by a certified service technician. You should only perform troubleshooting and simple repairs as authorized in your product documentation, or as directed by the online or telephone service and support team. Damage due to servicing that is not authorized by Dell is not covered by your warranty. Read and follow the safety instructions that came with the product.
  1. Turn off the system and attached peripherals, and disconnect the system from the electrical outlet.
  2. Open the system.
  3. Disconnect the cables connected to the control panel board.
NOTE:Note the routing of the cables on the side of the system as you remove them from the control panel board. You must route these cables properly when you replace them inside the shim stock pieces to prevent them from being pinched or crimped.
  4. Using a Phillips screwdriver, remove the two screws that secure the control panel board to the chassis.
  5. Slide the control panel board toward the back of the system and remove.
