Configure VMware vCenter high availability

VMware vCenter high availability (vCenter HA) protects the VMware vCenter Server against host and hardware failures. The active-passive architecture of the solution can also help reduce downtime when you patch the vCenter Server.

To enable VMware vCenter high availability, create a three-node PowerFlex cluster that contains active, passive, and witness nodes after a network configuration. Different configuration paths are available and your selection depends on the existing configuration.

VMware vCenter HA requirements:
  • Recommended minimum of three VMware ESXi hosts
  • Validate the flex-vcsa-ha networking and VMware vCenter port groups have been configured
See https://docs.vmware.com/en/VMware-vSphere/7.0/com.vmware.vsphere.avail.doc/GUID-4A626993-A829-495C-9659-F64BA8B560BD.html for additional requirements and configuration of VMware vCenter HA.
