Create a compression volume using PowerFlex GUI

Use this procedure to create a compressed volume with a version prior to PowerFlex 3.5.

1. Log in to PowerFlex GUI.
2. Select Frontend > Volumes.

   

3. Right-click a fine granularity storage pool and select Add Volume (fine granularity storage pools are identified with Ⓕ).

   

4. Add Volume Details:
   • Name: Volume Name
   • Size: Desired Volume Size
   • Enable Compression

   

5. Click OK and click Close.
6. Right-click volume and select Map.
7. Map to all desired hosts.
8. Click Map Volumes.

   

9. Click Close.
