Retrieving PowerFlex performance metrics using the PowerFlex GUI

Use this procedure to retrieve PowerFlex performance metrics using the PowerFlex GUI.

Prerequisites

Use a standard tool to generate simulated IOPS. A simple way to do this is to load a Linux VM and use flexible I/O Tests (fio) to generate IOPS. Following, is the command line using fio to generate random reads and writes: 
fio --name=randrw --rw=randrw --direct=1 --ioengine=libaio --bs=16k --numjobs=8 --rwmixread=90 -- size=1G --runtime=600 --group_reporting

Steps

  1. To retrieve overall performance metrics:
    1. Launch the PowerFlex GUI.
    2. In the Dashboard, look at the PERFORMANCE data.
    3. The Dashboard displays the following:
      • Overall system IOPs
      • Overall system bandwidth
      • Overall system latency
  2. To retrieve volume-specific metrics:
    1. Launch the PowerFlex GUI.
    2. In the Dashboard, select CONFIGURATION > Volumes.
  3. To retrieve SDS-specific metrics:
    1. Launch the PowerFlex GUI.
    2. In the Dashboard, Select CONFIGURATION > SDSs.
