Dmesg and /var/log/messages display the following messages on Dell EMC PowerEdge servers with 256 core CPUs and Dell EMC PowerEdge Express Flash Enterprise NVMe Agnostic (AGN) device or Dell EMC Express Flash Enterprise NVMe CD6 or Dell EMC Express Flash Enterprise NVMe CM6 device:
AMD-Vi: Failed to allocate IRTE
The message indicates that only a total of 255 IO queues are enabled instead of 256.
Solution
The issue is resolved in Red Hat Enterprise Linux 8.4.
