User authentication

Before performing any operation in secure connect gateway through the REST interface, it is necessary to authenticate your user account. After successful authentication, an authentication token and a refresh token are generated.

NOTE:The authentication token must be provided with every resource URI to perform an operation.

The following table describes the parameters that are used to manage user authentication:

Table 1. Parameters
Parameter Description
domain Domain to which the user is assigned. The possible values are:
  • Localhost
  • Root
  • LDAP nickname
username User name of the user account in the Domain\Username format. You can use a period to indicate the local domain. For example, MyDomain\MyUsername or .\Administrator
password Password of the system/domain user account
accessToken Access token for API authorization with expiration time
NOTE:The token expires automatically after 30 minutes. To continue your session, you can refresh the access token.
refreshToken Refresh token to get a new access token if access token expires.
NOTE:The refresh token is valid for 24 hours.
