SourceOne Email Management Indexes fail to "Reindex" or "Reindex Failed Documents"

Summary: SourceOne Email Management Indexes fail to "Reindex" or "Reindex Failed Documents" when the associated Archive folder contains an ampersand (&) in the name.

Symptoms

When attempting to perform a "Reindex" or "Reindex Failed Documents" against a SourceOne Email Management index set that belongs to an archive folder that contains an ampersand (&) in the name, the reindex fails.

The following errors are logged in the ExAsIdxObj.exe.log trace logs:

UPDATE WorkQueue SET xConfig.modify('insert text{"\\IndexShare\Index02\TEST & FOLDER\YearMonth\IndexSet_REBUILD_PARTIAL"} into (RebuildInfo/TempNetworkLoc)[1]'), LastModified = '20201217 14:20:41.527' where WorkId = 2718

Cannot communicate with the database. (0x86040400) Unknown error (0x800408EA) {XQuery [WorkQueue.xConfig.modify()]: Invalid entity reference Native error: 2282 SQL State: 42000 }

Marking local index missing msg...

Marking local idx state as missmsg <DriveLetter>:\EMC SourceOne IndexWork\TEST & FOLDER_YearMonth_IndexNum\Index

This only happens with ISYS indexing. Elastic Search Indexes are not affected.

Resolution

This issue is resolved in patches or Service Pack versions of SourceOne Email Management higher than 7.2.10 Hotfix 2 (7.2.10.0059).
