Symptoms

No Sound in conference calls in Microsoft Teams and Zoom

 

There is no audio audible in conference calls using Microsoft Teams, or Zoom software. This issue affects the following products after updating with the wrong audio software:

Note: This issue happens with the Windows 11 (version 23H2) operating system. The same issue is not seen after updating the operating system to Windows 11 (version 24H2).

Cause

The problem is with the following Audio drivers:

  • KDX2X_6.0.9752.1
  • KHJYJ_6.0.9706.2
  • KMFW5_0.105.1.3
  • H58H6_10.0.251.1
  • 53YJF_10.0.251.1
  • 9GDGV_6.0.9706.1
  • PT4CX_6.0.9706.1
  • V68N8_6.0.9752.1
  • NCN91_6.2.19

The optimization process causes a side effect with the waves applications preset writing. This means that some parameters are not correctly written into the operating system.

Resolution

Note: Administrator rights are required on the laptop to make any operating system changes or update any software.

Dell has removed the problem drivers from our support site and there are new audio drivers in their place. The following link provides instructions to update your laptops audio driver from our support site:
