Removing the rear system-fan assembly
Prerequisites
- Follow the procedure in Before working inside your computer.
- Remove the left-side cover.
- Remove the air shroud.
About this task
The following images indicate the location of the rear system-fan assembly and provide a visual representation of the removal procedure.
Steps
- Remove the two (6-32) screws that secure the fan assembly to the chassis.
- Move the fan assembly at an angle from the chassis.
- Disconnect the two fan cables from the connectors on the system board.
- Lift and remove the fan assembly from the computer.
