Directed restore files and folder permission issue
For Isilon, directed restore files and folder have permission issues on a Windows platform.
Workaround
- Create a Common Internet File System (CIFS) access mount on the Isilon device, and then allow the share to have Windows Access Control Lists (ACLs).
- Mount the CIFS share to a Windows computer.
- On the mounted share, save the file.
- Back up the network-attached storage (NAS) device with the CIFS share.
- Perform a directed recover of the file on the share to a local disk on the Windows computer.
The files and folders are then recovered without any permission issues.
