Snapshots fail for Linux Volume Manager on VNX with PowerPath
The use of PowerPath® software is optional for NSM on VNX arrays. An incorrectly configured Linux Volume Manager (LVM) used with PowerPath can result in snapshot failures with the following error:
Workaround
"/dev/sdbd" is not a device that the CLARiiON SCM recognizes as snappable
Modify the lvm.conf file to be able to use NSM.
