Mandatory TLVs

OS10 supports the three mandatory TLVs. These mandatory TLVs are at the beginning of the LLDPDU in the following order:
  • Chassis ID TLV
  • Port ID TLV
  • Time-to-live TLV

Mandatory TLVs Type Description
Chassis ID 1 Identifies the chassis.
Port ID 2 Identifies a port through which the LAN device transmits LLDPDUs.
Time-to-live 3 Number of seconds that the received information in this LLDPDU is valid.
End of LLDPDU 0 Marks the end of an LLDPDU.
