Alienware Command Center 6.x User's Guide

New automated experience

Alienware Command Center has new features that are designed to automatically adjust your Performance Presets and lighting (AlienFX) based on the games you are playing. Alienware Command Center is also designed to automatically detect compatible games within the Alienware Command Center's Game Library.

  • Performance Presets—Performance Presets are dynamically selected when playing specific games and in system mode (non-gaming applications). Your system arrives with the Balanced performance preset as the system mode default. Other system mode performance presets can be manually selected using the main dashboard or performance tab within Alienware Command Center. The default performance preset in game mode is Performance. Users can manually change to another mode. Performance presets can be set for each individual game. To do this for each detected game:
    1. Go to the Game Library in Alienware Command Center.
    2. Click a game title.
    3. Click Performance.
    4. On the right, select the wanted performance preset for your game.

When a detected game is launched Alienware Command Center automatically switches the performance preset from the system mode preset to the game mode preset. When the game is closed, the performance preset automatically switches back to the system mode performance preset.

  • AlienFX Lighting—Alienware Command Center 6.0 is designed to automatically detect the games you are playing and then automatically adjust system lighting based on that game’s cover art. Lighting can also be customized for each individual game title. To do this:
    1. Go to the Game Library.
    2. Click a game title.
    3. Click AlienFX.
    4. Add +
    5. Customize new lighting for your specific game.
  • Game Library automatically detects games—Alienware Command Center 6.0 is designed to automatically detect games from select PC game platforms (Steam, Epic Games, Xbox Game Pass, EA Play, Battle.net, uplay ). Non-gaming applications and games that are not automatically detected by Alienware Command Center can be manually added to the Alienware Command Center Game Library as well. To do this:
    1. Go to the Game Library.
    2. Click Add Title on the upper-right corner.
    3. Select the Available Programs from the drop-down menu or click Browse.
    4. Click Add to Library once you have selected a game or program.
